Experience some of the Midwest’s most thrilling, class IV rapids on this 3-hour white-water rafting adventure. Groups of up to eight people will be led by a guide through the Menominee River's waters. Drink in the scenery on the flat-water sections of the river before shooting through the fast-paced Piers Gorge. This family-friendly outing is appropriate for a range of ages and skill levels.

Head to the Menominee River Outpost with a group of up to eight people, meet your guide, and get ready to conquer some of the Midwest’s most thrilling rapids. This 3-hour white-water rafting adventure will see you tackle the class IV rapids of the Menominee River. In the company of a guide, you’ll be able to try your hand at the adrenaline-pumping experience; participants of different ages and skill levels are all welcome to join in the fun, and this is a family-friendly trip.

The river trip begins along a quieter stretch of the Menominee River. Take in the gorgeous, 200-foot cliffs bordering Michigan and Wisconsin as you paddle down the river. After a scenic flat-water section and a few smaller rapids, you will pull over to scout the famous rapids of Piers Gorge. These world-class rapids are some off the best in the region. In the summer months, when other rivers are low, the Menominee River’s dam ensures large-volume rapids all throughout the season.

Your guide will lead you on two runs through Piers Gorge. After you shoot the rapids, you’ll take a short hike back to the top of Piers Gorge and run them again. Note that children under the age of 12 must portage this section of the river in the company of a parent or guardian.

After your two wild runs through the Piers Gorge, you will board a shuttle with your guide back to your original point of departure, where the tour ends.

This kayak tour sets off to see a few of our many precious gems of Door County. You will experience thousand year old caves, ancient fossils, and Whitefish Dunes State Park.

After an introductory lesson and a calm launch from a location north of Cave Point, we follow the coast until we reach the shores of Cave Point County Park, where we creep along listening to the wonderful sound of the water and enjoying the view of the caves. We then explore the caves with our kayaks and finally head towards Whitefish Bay Dunes State Park. At this point, we will turn around and return to our launch location or head to the take out point at the Whitefish Bay Town boat launch (dependent on the wind). The caves are not viewable from the land.  You will be one of the lucky few to observe them from the safety of a kayak.

On the day of your tour, we will make a final decision for the location of the tour. Location is dependent on wind strength/direction and group ability. Ultimately, the guide decides the location of the tour.

If you want to experience a specific location,  please sign up for a private tour online or by phone at (920)-868-1400, and let us know if you have kayaked with us in the past.

Our guides do their best to choose the safest and most enjoyable tour possible for the conditions. On average, we can go to cave point 80% of the time.  Please choose a day early in your vacation week and early in the day (8 AM, 9 AM, & 10 AM have the calmest, most relaxing ride).

Cancellation Policy: If the conditions are not favorable for the cave tour, you have 3 options; (1) Reschedule for another time (within 3-5 days), (2) Join another tour at that time if available and if conditions are safe (i.e. wetlands, bluff or paddleboard) (3) Cancel and lose your deposit $10/Person. If there is lightning/thunder in the air, we do our best to reschedule everyone, if you are not able to reschedule, you will receive a full refund.

As we use sit on top tandem kayaks, our tours are great for kids ages 5+ and beginner paddlers! If you have no experience and want to gain some, we recommend joining our Wetlands Kayak Tour before you embark on our Cave Kayak Tour.
